Video Description
Syrian government security forces intervened to break up clashes between Alawite demonstrators and supporters of Syria’s new authorities.
Alawite protesters took to the streets in the coastal city of Latakia two days after a mosque bombing that killed eight people in an Alawite neighbourhood of Homs.
Officials believe an explosive device was detonated inside the building, Syria’s state-run news agency, SANA, reported, citing a security source.
While authorities are still searching for the perpetrators, the jihadist group Saraya Ansar al-Sunnah said it was behind the explosion.
